Statistics
Bishop Galante announced a comprehensive, multi-phased parish planning process in fall 2006 in order to strengthen and revitalize parish life, to address the decline in the number of diocesan priests available for ministry, a long-term decline in religious practice (particularly Mass attendance), population and demographic changes, and to bring financial health and stability to parishes. The charts below show the decline in the number of diocesan priests available for ministry, the decline in Mass attendance, shifts in population, the combined impact of population change and religious practice, amd the changing demographics of the South Jersey population.
